With a passion for timber framing and a desire to create, in 2018, Kaine Laursen and Mike Spohn combined years of experience in design and timber frame construction to establish what is Wolf Lake Timber Works. Since that time, Wolf Lake Timber Works has added six valued team members and has moved to our current shop, which is just west of Peterborough, Ontario.
We pride ourselves in our ability to work seamlessly with clients from concept to creation. We believe that communication is the key to providing a premium product with all expectations exceeded.
Not only do we focus on creating beautiful timber frames, but we have a unique focus on the sustainability and longevity of our industry and planet.
The Canadian lumber industry is one of the most sustainable on Earth. As a company that depends on these healthy, sustainably sourced forests, we find it crucial that we contribute by funding to replant trees for each project we take on.
For every timber frame pavilion, pergola, home, or entry we build, we fund ten trees to be planted that match the species used for that frame. This exceeds the amount of lumber used in each project, and gives us peace of mind that we're giving back to the forests we rely on.

At Wolf Lake Timber Works, we hold ourselves to high standards, striving to provide the highest quality timber frame structures, and accents, through the use of premium materials, stains, and techniques.
By the time each timber has been hand cut, sanded and stained, it has been viewed by our experienced staff hundreds of times, ensuring that each timber meets these high standards before ultimately being used for your project
